    Yoga,

While tattoo removal has become quite routine, patients who choose to treat hair loss with scalp micro-pigmentation (SMP) are advised to view the procedure as permanent.

Lasers are the gold standard for removing tattoos today. Methods used in the past left visible scarring and damage to the skin. Even today’s modern laser treatments can be very painful and may take several, costly sessions to be effective.

The success of tattoo removal is dependent upon many factors including the type of ink used, the manner and skill in which it was applied and the individual’s healing characteristics among others. It is rare that a tattoo can be completely removed leaving no visible trace. However, in the hands of an experienced physician, laser tattoo removal can be very successful and should not result in visible skin damage.

    Best of luck!
    David
