Hair Loss: At What Age Does a Mature Hairline Form?
This question, from a member of our Hair Loss Community and Discussion Forums, was answered by Coalition hair transplant surgeon Dr. Glenn Charles:
A maturing hairline is sometimes (understandably) confused with balding, as one’s hairline recedes and hair sheds and is lost. But, unlike male pattern baldness (MPB), a mature hairline doesn’t recede once it assumes its final shape. At what age does one’s hairline fully mature? By what age, on average, should one have a mature hairline?
Everyone grows into their adult hairline at different times. It probably depends on several factors including but not limited to; family history/genetics, time of initial hair loss or receding and overall health.

Treating Androgenic Alopecia
If you are suffering the effects of androgenic alopecia (genetic hair loss) and not just a maturing hairline, consult with a dermatologist or hair restoration physician. You may benefit from medical hair loss treatments like Propecia (finasteride) and Rogaine (minoxidil).
