What Is Hair Miniaturization?
I am losing my hair and have a question. I have been reading about the hair miniaturization process and want to know what that is and how I would be able to spot it. Can you help?

Despite popular belief, hair shedding does not necessarily indicate hair loss. In fact, shedding of the hair is a normal part of the hair growth cycle. Hair miniaturization occurs however, when the hair growth cycle speeds up during hair loss. A miniaturized hair can be any hair that is shorter and thinner looking than the rest of your hair. Typically hairs that are further along in the miniatirized process will start to lose it’s color and continue to become finer and thinner than the rest of your hair.
It is almost nearly impossible to find miniaturized hairs on your own scalp. A dermatologist or hair restoration specialist would be better at spotting them as they are trained to do so and use hair magnification.

Clearly I don’t know anything about your history but, from your brief and misinformed comments, I can only assume that you’ve had a bad experience or two with an unskilled or unethical “hair loss expert” who perhaps claimed to have the power to cure baldness.

Yes, bald hair transplant surgeons are not uncommon. However, as I mentioned above, not everyone is a candidate for hair restoration. Sorry but so called ‘hair – loss experts ‘ are cons. The field is full of un passionate people who interestingly enough have not been able to cure their own baldness. There is research not yet done. THere are areas which many people refuse to look at or identify. That is why your hair loss issue will not resolve. Do not waste your money on doctors. If you want prescription medication to try buy it online. Many doctors will not even acknowledge the hair loss. By the time you find a doctor, if you ever do, that will acknowledge some amount of hair loss or problem you have waited to long and most of the damaged has been done. It does from a rescue mission to a recovery mission. Moral definitely goes down but it is also a harder situation to deal with.

Hair loss can manifest itself in any number of ways. It’s impossible to tell if you are balding without a thorough examination by a hair loss expert. I recommend consulting with a dermatologist or one of our recommended hair restoration physicians.
If you are in the early stages of genetic balding, you may benefit from using Propecia (finasteride) and Rogaine (minoxidil) in order to slow your hair loss or even regrow hair.

When my hair grows out my hair grows considerably slower on my crown then the rest of my hair further it looks thinner, when i cut my hair there is no signs of thinning am I going bald?

Without knowing in particular which products you’re referring to, just know that there are a number of so called herbal and organic hair loss treatments making bold but unsubstantiated claims of hair regrowth. To date, only Propecia (finasteride – men only) and Rogaine (minoxidil) are proven and FDA approved treatments to stop hair loss. If your hair loss is genetic, you may want to consider these two solutions.

if miniaturize hair are treated well with organic hair growth methods…can those tiny hair grow back normally and become thick as the other hair.
