How Hair Grows and Matures after a Hair Transplant

After hair transplantation surgery, newly placed hair follicles will shed and new hairs will grow and mature over a period 2 to 18 of 1months. How long this process takes varies from patient to patient. But what does the hair transplant growth process look like? Why do transplanted hairs shed and take 3 to 5 months for regrowth to occur? Will all the transplanted hair grow or will some die off in the process?

At first, newly transplanted hair will be fine in texture and light in color. However, the characteristics of these new hairs should improve until they match the rest of the patient’s hair and increase the illusion of density.
