Hair Loss: Is Generic Finasteride and Minoxidil As Effective as Propecia and Rogaine?
I’ve been using Propecia and Rogaine for hair loss for some time but am thinking about switching to generic finasteride and minoxidil to save money. Are generics as effective as the brand names?
Many hair loss sufferers use generic finasteride and minoxidil as a means to save money. Legitimate generics to Propecia and Rogaine can be as effective as brand name hair loss treatments. Be sure however, that you purchase your generics from reputable sources in order to ensure you are receiving the real thing.
Personally, I am reluctant to buy any prescription medication online however, some hair restoration physicians will prescribe Proscar which is much less expensive containing 5mg of finasteride. Cutting the Proscar tablet into quarters will give you approximately 1.25 mg per day, which is quite similar to Propecia. Many physicians believe this is just as effective for balding men as taking Propecia and will not increase the likelihood of side effects.
