I have been doing a lot of research lately on hair transplants. Almost making up my mind to get one towards the end of this year. I’m a 5A on the Norwood Scale at 35 years old. I’m planning to get around 3500-4000 grafts. Let’s say this covers most of my bald spots and I don’t lose further hair on a large scale. Will I need another surgery in that case?

I have read many posts that say once you do one hair transplant, you will have to follow up with 1 or more surgeries later on. What is the reasoning behind that? Is it that further hair loss will occur which will force you to have another transplant at least?

Whether you want another hair restoration session will depend on your expectations and goals. Having said that, you should be able to have just the one procedure and not be obligated to have more procedures if you choose not to. The one session should look natural enough that you can opt for another procedure if you want more density or for more coverage in the future.
