For anyone considering using Avodart ([tag]Dutasteride[/tag]) to combat their [tag]male-pattern baldness[/tag], these charts should come in handy. The first one shows the amount of [tag]DHT[/tag] inhibited by Avodart in concentrations of .1mg per day, .5 mg per day, and 2.5 mg per day. .5 mg per day is the dose prescribed to BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) sufferers and is often the dose taken by [tag]hair loss[/tag] sufferers. The next chart shows the amount of DHT inhibited by [tag]Avodart[/tag] on different dosing schedules. The lines are kind of hard to see so I’ll list them here:
As you can see, loading with 1.5 mg per day and then taking .5 mg per day thereafter inhibits the largest amount of DHT the fastest. You can achieve the same rate of inhibition with taking .5 mg per day from the start but it will take time to build in your system to its maximum levels of inhibition.When I started Avodart (and discontinued [tag]Propecia[/tag]) I went ahead and took the loading method. I have been lucky enough to not have any [tag]side effects[/tag] with Avodart thus far other than a brief [tag]shedding[/tag] period that lasted about a month-and-a-half starting at around the two month mark. I have been using Avodart for about a year-and-a-half now with great results.

Hello Bill, I am assuming that this post was made in 2011, as the comments began in 2011. In this post you wrote that you "have been using Avodart for about a year-and-a-half now with great results".
Do you still take Avodart (dustasteride) now in 2017?
What is your current dosage? 0.5mg Daily? or every other day? or not at all?
Did you change your dosage over the years?
How are your results now?

The Red line is the second line from the bottom (The one above the black Finasteride line) Yes I know it looks more brown than red , but that's the red line
There is no red line on the chart! I plan to switch from 0,5 mg daily dutasteride to once in 2 days and that red line is really important...
