Do Hair Transplant Doctors Really Count Hair Grafts?

Do [tag]hair transplant surgeon[/tag]s really count the  number  of [tag]follicular unit graft[/tag]s they are planting? I mean is it physically and humanly possible to count each graft/hair while removing or planting? Do they really count?   As a [tag]hair transplant patient[/tag] I would not count my hair.

An accurate number of follicular unit grafts counted by the technicians/doctor is important in order to know how many recipient sites to make in the scalp.     Therefore, a [tag]hair transplant clinic[/tag] will count the number of  follicular unit grafts that are extracted for [tag]hair transplant[/tag] surgery.   During Follicular Unit Transplantation ([tag]FUT[/tag], these  [tag]follicular unit[/tag]  grafts are  not counted as they are extracted  but as they are being cut from the donor strip after it’s been removed.   In Follicular Unit Extraction  ([tag]FUE[/tag]) / [tag]Follicular Isolation Technique[/tag] ([tag]FIT[/tag]) the grafts are counted as they are removed one at a time.

Though all [tag]hair transplant doctor[/tag]s will count the number of grafts that are extracted, not all  of them  will provide a hair count or graft/hair breakdown.     At the Hair Transplant Network  however, we encourage our recommended hair restoration physicians  to count both the number of grafts and hairs in order to provide a more accurate understanding of what a patient has received.   As Pat, the Publisher of Our Community states: “Count hairs not grafts:   More slices doesn’t equal a bigger pizza!”
