Does Transplanted Hair Continue to Grow after Hair Transplant Surgery?
After a hair transplant will the hair grow? If you cut it will it grow back? How long will it grow? I have genetic hair loss will the procedure help me?
Hair restoration surgery is effective for those with androgenic alopecia (genetic balding) because the DHT resistant donor hair is harvested from the permanent zone at the sides and back of the head. Once transplanted, the donor hair will continue to grow for a lifetime just as it did before. In terms of hair length, the transplanted hair should grow to the same length as your natural hair.
In order to determine if you are a candidate for surgery I recommend consulting with one or more of the pre-screened, quality hair transplant surgeons recommended by the Hair Transplant Network.
