Dr. Robert Dorin Demonstrates the Importance of an Individualized Approach to Hair Transplant Patients with Two Follicular Unit Extraction Cases
Coalition hair transplant surgeon Dr. Robert Dorin believes in a unique, highly artistic approach to each of his hair transplant surgery patients. Dr. Dorin believes each patient requires an individualistic, specific approach, and utilizes this philosophy to achieve excellent hair restoration results.
Recently, Dr. Dorin decided to demonstrate the importance of an individualized, unique approach to each hair transplant patient by sharing two follicular unit extraction (FUE) cases performed consecutively on two different patients.
The first patient was a male in his late twenties with a Nowrood 3V balding pattern, a donor supply of approximately 5,500 – 6,000 grafts, and no history of hair loss medication usage. After evaluating and discussing the situation with the patient, Dr. Dorin decided to utilize 1,315 grafts to create a low, flat hairline. Dr. Dorin believed this specific plan fit the patient’s physiology and hair restoration goal, and he moved forward with the FUE procedure. Below is a “before and after” image of the first patient:
The second patient was also a male in his late twenties with a Norwood 3V balding pattern, 6,500 – 7,000 available follicular unit grafts, and a history of Propecia (finasteride) usage. Despite the fact that this patient was the same age and demonstrated a very similar balding pattern to the previous patient, Dr. Dorin evaluated his hair restoration goals, facial structure, general physiology, and decided on a different and unique hair transplant plan: 1,750 grafts applied to a larger region of the scalp and an “irregular” hairline design. Below is a “before and after” image of this patient:
By presenting these two distinct hair transplantation approaches applied to two very similar patients, Dr. Dorin demonstrates the importance of an individualized approach to each hair transplant patient. Clearly, Dr. Dorin’s skills, artistic instinct, and years of experience allow him to carefully craft these unique hair transplantation plans, and the results speak for themselves!
