Statistics reveal that by the age of 50, 40 to 50 percent of men and women will suffer from hair loss.   95% of these men and women are suffering from Androgenetic Alopecia or hereditary hair loss.   Therefore it is not surprising to learn that hair transplantation has increased in popularity over the last several years.

Hair transplantation is a relatively minor outpatient procedure that moves hair from the donor area (the sides and back of one’s head) to the recipient area (the balding areas).   Hair Transplantation is both available for men and women depending on whether or not they are a good candidate.

According to the International Society of hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), hair transplantation is the top cosmetic procedure for men.   No wonder therefore that an international survey online revealed that 57% of men with hereditary hair loss would be willing to give up many of their valuable personal possessions such as cars, computers, plasma TVs just to be able to get their hair back.

Hair transplantation is not for everyone however.   One must familiarize themselves with the benefits, the risks, and the limitations that go along with this type of surgery.   For those who are good candidates for hair transplantation, it is also extremely important to select the right hair restoration surgeon  to ensure a satisfactory hair transplant.   To learn more about hair restoration surgery, click here.
