  • There are a number of hair loss shampoos and conditioners around.

Their relative effectiveness seems to vary between individuals. For example I used American Crew Revitalise and that worked for about a year, but then the hair loss started again. Prior to that I was using Schwartzkopf products, which are normally very good, but this one didn't work for me. I am currently using ProFusion Haircare System for the past year which is still working. This is only available in Europe though.

If you have an area which has been bald for many years, the best you can hope for is to retain the hair you have. If a hair root has been inactive for quite a number of years, don't expect it suddenly to start producing healthy hair.

The best time to start any hair loss treatment is when your hair is just starting to thin, that way the roots are still viable.
