Who is the best hair transplant doctor?   My hair transplant didn’t work that well because of poor postoperative care.   What should I tell my hair transplant surgeon. and how canI get some kind of refund?   He told me he can redo my hair replacement surgery but I don’t have confidence in him.

I can understand your concerns and I’ll address them one at a time.

Regarding the “best” hair transplant physician, there are a number of  surgeons that do quality work however, there are even more who do poor quality  work.   Research is the key to selecting a first-rate hair transplant surgeon.   At the Hair Transplant Network, we have done some of the research for you by pre-screening hair restoration physicians.   See a list of our recommended hair restoration physicians.   To see our high level of membership standards, click here.

I recommend that you do your due diligence in research any physician you are considering by looking at before/after hair transplant photos, especially those posted by real patients on our  Hair Restoration Discussion Forum.   Meeting hair transplant patients in person is even better in order to make an evaluation of how it looks in person.

Regarding your current hair replacement, I recommend first  contacting the hair transplant clinic who performed your first surgery to express your concerns and wants.   Be sure also that you’ve given your  hair transplant  at least a full year to mature before you give it a full evaluation.   You can also post  your experience and hair transplant photos publicly on our hair restoration forum, contacting any  any membership organizations they are a part of (example: Hair Transplant Network, International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons – ISHRS, etc.).   I have found however, that ethical hair transplant clinics will do anything they can to help a patient which may or may not include giving a partial or full refund.

In my opinion, if you have lost confidence in your surgeon, I would not go back to him/her for a second hair restoration surgery.

I hope this helps.
