This question, from a member of our hair loss social community and discussion forums, was answered by Coalition hair transplant surgeon Dr. Glenn Charles:

Anyone have any tips on getting rid of pimples and itchiness in the hair transplant donor area? Been 5 weeks now and it is still really itchy and I have pimples in the donor area. Recipient area is fine.

This was a follicular unit extraction (FUE) with 2000 grafts

If it is just a few pimples they usually will go away, but if you are getting several and the area appears red and tender then you should contact your hair restoration physician as soon as possible. They may prescribe an antibiotic to clear any potential infection.

You can also try a shampoo that has Ketoconazole (Nizoral) in it. This often helps with the itching.
