How Much Does Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Cost?

The minimally invasive nature and impressive results have really peaked my interest in Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). How much does it cost? Is it more expensive than traditional strip surgery (Follicular Unit Strip Surgery)?
Unfortunately, there are no “standard prices” in the world of hair transplant surgery. Physicians create fee schedules based upon a variety of specific criteria, and no two will be the same. In general, FUE is more expensive than traditional “strip surgery” or Follicular Unit Strip Surgery (FUSS). This is because FUE is more time consuming and labor intensive. As surgeon skill and patient demand both increase, however, the price of FUE surgery continues decreasing.
Though tempting, it is usually important not to “price shop” hair transplant surgery. This often yields sub-par results and costs more money in the end. Undergoing a quality FUE procedure with a trusted, proven physician once will be more economical than a “cheaper” procedure that requires multiple “touch-ups” or, in some severe cases, a repair procedure at a later date. This does not mean price automatically equates to quality, but it is a good “general rule” for those researching FUE procedures.
Altogether, it is nearly impossible to conclusively state the price of an FUE procedure; there are simply too many variables involved! The best way to determine how much it could cost is by consulting with multiple doctors. Schedule meetings with several FUE specialists and inquire about pricing schedules and the potential cost of your procedure. Approaching FUE in this manner helps ensure quality work that, for lack of a better term, is worth the price!

The cost of FUE varies from cents 50 to $ 12 a graft.The cost will escalate if you are planning a BHT (body hair transplant) for which you may have to pay double the cost.Body hair transplants are costlier because-
1. They are time consuming
2. A lot more skill is required
3. Few doctors offer this treatment
However, as Blake mentioned, I project the cost of FUE hair transplant shall stabilise and be equivalent to the present cost of FUT surgery. More competition for FUT!!
