How to Alleviate Scalp Itch After Hair Transplantation
During the healing phase the first month after hair transplant surgery, you may experience scalp itch, both in the recipient and donor area as they’re healing. A few months later, the itching may return as the transplanted hair follicles start to grow new hair and penetrate through the scalp. And though you may be tempted to tear at your scalp with your fingernails, your hair restoration surgeon will caution you to restrain yourself.
So what then are the best ways to alleviate donor and recipient area scalp itch during the hair transplant healing and hair growth process? Is it ok to scratch, and if so, how can I do it without damaging the hair transplant?

Keephair,
Have no fear! Six months after surgery, it is extremely unlikely that one session of vigorous scratching would impact the progress of your hair transplant. You may have dislodged pre-existing, miniaturized hairs that were already on their way out or may be experiencing a shed.
Are you using Propecia (finasteride) and/or Rogaine (minoxidil) to stabilize your hair loss?

Hi first of all thanks for all your replies and help. I know this has been asked before but I am 6months post ht. Today i just felt the need to scratch like crazy so I scratched my head and the recipient area vigouresly. Had a lot of hair fall after that. Have I ruined the progress of my ht because of scratching the recienpt area?
