The below question posted on our Hair Loss Social Community and Discussion Forums was answered by a representative for Coalition hair restoration surgeons Dr. Ron Shapiro , Dr. Paul Shapiro and Dr. David Josephitis:
Is platelet rich plasma (PRP) without hair transplant surgery an effective hair loss treatment?
PRP is a good treatment to consider if you meet the requirements for candidacy and you’re not willing to go with the finasteride route. The shock loss issue is some that any valid treatment can cause as you’re resetting the growth cycles and when done on a large scale shedding can increase. This is true of every valid non-surgical option in existence.
