I’m a young woman with a tall forehead. I have no baby hairs, and I’m always afraid of showing off my hair to others because of my forehead. I don’t want to get surgery. Are there any products  I can use to make my hair grow on my forehead?

Some people are born with a naturally high hairline. Most choose to address this concern with an appropriate hairstyle designed to cover the forehead. While this option is very limiting in terms of trying out new styles, it’s the most economical option.

Unfortunately, there is no non-surgical hair growth treatments that can grow hair on a naturally hairless area of the scalp. In fact, the medical hair loss treatments that do exist are not very good at restoring hair to a balding hairline. The only effective way to effectively lower a hairline is through surgery.

If you decide to consider a surgical procedure in the future, you have two options to choose from. The first is known as the Hairline Lowering Procedure. This procedure is almost exclusively offered to female patients because women don’t typically have to worry about their hairlines receding in the future. In this procedure, a strip of skin is removed just below the hairline and the scalp is pulled down to close the gap. The benefits are seen instantly and scarring is very well hidden.

The second option is follicular unit hair transplant surgery. In this surgery, donor hair is harvested from the back and sides of the head and separated into follicular units of 1 to 4 hairs. These grafts are then implanted in the front of the head to create a natural, lower hairline.

If you’re interested in learning more about these surgical options, I suggest contacting a recommended hair transplant surgeon in your area.
