However, after years of experience Hair Restoration Social Community and Discussion Forum member Spex, a consultant for Coalition surgeon Dr. Alan Feller, was able to gather generalized data and provide a monthly post-operative growth expectation chart:
On average :
3 months start
4 months 20%
5 months 30%
6 months 40%
7 months 50%
8 months 60%
9 months 70%
10 months 80%
11 months 90%
12 months 100%
With additional maturing upto 18 months.
(where percent refers to the amount of growth compared to the final, matured result)
After posting this chart, Spex reminded our hair restoration community that this data is a very generalized, rough estimation and that post-operative growth will differ between individual patients. Additionally, he explained that patients should not agonize over new hair growth on a monthly basis, or judge the outcome of their surgery until the results are fully matured.
