I had a strip hair transplant 6 weeks ago today. I felt some pain in the middle of the donor area this evening when I came home from work. I looked at the donor area and I saw a point of redness and a little bleeding when I touched it with a napkin. Please help me.
When you say “in the middle of the donor area”, do you mean along the scar line or elsewhere in the hair transplant donor area? If the point of redness and bleeding is along the scar, it is likely due to ingrown hairs. Some hair follicles can become buried when the wound is closed, resulting in swelling, pain and bleeding similar to a pimple. I experienced many of these myself with each of my follicular unit strip surgeries. They typically clear up on their own.
Again, while there may not be any reason for concern, the safest course of action when you have pain and bleeding is to contact your hair restoration physician.
