This question, from a member of our hair loss social community and discussion forums, was answered by Coalition hair transplant surgeon Dr. Glenn Charles:
I underwent a [tag]hair transplant[/tag] a couple of days ago. I had significant native hair pre-HT. I had opted for shaving my hair before the procedure. Though I knew there would be some shock loss of the native hair, I wanted to know by when the native hair starts growing back. I am not concerned about the transplanted hair as I know they will take approximately 8 months to show some measurable signs of growth.
I try to tell patients that, after the initial healing process is over, to just try and forget about the [tag]hair restoration[/tag] procedure for 3 to 4 months. Don’t drive yourself crazy. Staring in the mirror does not make [tag]hair growth[/tag] appear faster. Go about your normal life and just know that something positive is going to happen down the road.
