Still Sore and Numb 4 Weeks After Hair Transplant Surgery
I have a hair transplant performed almost four weeks ago. The top of my head is still sore and the back just above where the donor strip was removed is still very numb. My doctor told me that this can take several months or even up to a year to go away. Is this typical? Will the soreness fade sooner than the numbness?
A little soreness, tightness, and numbness are all typical at this early stage of the hair transplant healing process. Numbness and tightness can take several months to even a year to subside, quite possibly less however. Soreness should be minimal at this stage and often dissipates sooner than any remaining tightness or numbness. If you feel highly uncomfortable or in medium to high amounts of pain, you should consult with your hair transplant doctor immediately.
