Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is quickly becoming a highly desired method of hair transplant surgery. While the procedure has traditionally been slightly “over hyped,” after years of growing popularity and continuing evolution, it’s clear that FUE is “here to stay.”

However, though the procedure is becoming highly desired by hair loss sufferers, it is important to remember that not all patients are good FUE candidates. Because of this, it is crucial for any individual considering  FUE to thoroughly review the advantages and disadvantages of the procedure before scheduling surgery. But what are the advantages and disadvantages of Follicular Unit Extraction? What about the “myths” and “rumors” surrounding the procedure? Also, what is the hair loss community saying about the “pros and cons” of FUE?

In order to answer these important questions, a member recently created a thread discussing the advantages and disadvantages of FUE on our hair restoration discussion forums. In the thread, members discuss the perceived pros and cons of the procedure, FUE candidacy, and dispel certain “myths” about both the overly positive and overly negative aspects of FUE.
