What Percentage of Prospective Hair Transplant Patients Are Ineligible for Surgery?

This question, from a member of our hair loss social community and discussion forums, was answered by Coalition hair transplant surgeon Dr. Carlos Wesley:

Approximately what percentage of hair transplant patients who come into your office do you have to turn down?

I’d say that for about 30-35% of my consults I discourage undergoing hair restoration surgery. That doesn’t mean, however, that there is no alternative.

Between the various topical hair loss medications that exist and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, there are numerous methods to improve a man’s or woman’s hair growth status.
