I am 24 years old and 6 feet tall. I started experiencing hair loss and desperately want to restore my hair. I’ve been using olive oil in my hair before washing. Will this work? What vitamins for hair loss work and what other treatments are available?

Though olive oil makes a great cooking agent and is one of the healthier unsaturated fats for ingesting, I haven’t seen any proof that olive oil has any benefit to stop the progression of male pattern baldness or stimulate hair regrowth.

Some companies market various vitamins for hair loss, but at best, only anecdotal evidence suggests any level of efficacy. The only two FDA approved treatments for balding is Propecia (finasteride – men only) and Rogaine (minoxidil). Propecia and Rogaine have a synergistic effect when used with one another and work better to stop male pattern hair loss. Only hair transplant surgery works to restore hair in completely bald areas. If you are consider surgical hair restoration, be sure to spend some time exploring our sites to learn about the procedure and the best surgeons that perform them.
