Young Patient With No Hair Loss Wants Hair Transplant To Refine Temple Areas

I am 21 and in college and am not happy with my appearance.   I am not balding, but I want a hair transplant to refine my temple area for a cosmetic improvement.   Is there a hair transplant surgeon that will do this?

Some hair restoration physicians will do smaller refined hair transplant  sessions for receeding temples especially with follicular unit extraction (FUE)  however, at a young age there are a number of risks, especially for patients who are not experiencing hair loss, at least not yet.

Younger hair transplant patients, especially those with minimal or no hair loss typically are not  optimal candidates for hair replacement surgery for a number of reasons.

Admittedly, it would not require a great number of follicular unit grafts to restore your temples, but there are other factors to consider.   For example, if you do in fact lose hair, you are putting yourself at a  potential risk of having young looking restored temples with an area of hair thinning or  baldness behind it which would create an unnatural look.

In my opinion, it would be best to wait until you are at least 30 years of age.   If you haven’t started to go bald by then, reconsider hair restoration surgery for your temples.   It is all about planning for the long term with hair transplantation.
